Ceramic dining tables, made by a French manufacturer

Since 1996, our manufacture in Wattrelos, just outside Lille, has been making high-end ceramic dining tables: a refined 6 mm mineral-inspired top set on steel bases that are welded, sanded and lacquered by hand.

Byblos table, Travertin Prestige ceramic — made by COLOMBUS in Wattrelos

The dining table is the centrepiece of your home. It has to be beautiful, sturdy, practical and the right size. Made to measure in ceramic, in our Wattrelos workshop, it is all of these at once, and it lasts for decades.

Why choose a ceramic tabletop?

The Italian technical ceramic we select offers the refinement of marble or travertine without their constraints: it resists heat, everyday scratches and stains, keeps its appearance over time and is easy to clean. It is an ideal material for a dining table used every day — including in a family home.

We offer 12 exceptional ceramic finishes — Travertin Prestige, Calacatta, Taj Mahal, Spirit of Tasmania… — in matte, silk-touch or polished finishes, 6 mm thick on a reinforced support.

12 signature bases, endless possibilities

Create your table by choosing from our twelve signature bases — Atlas, Beluga, Byblos, Byblos Trio, Éléonore, Ikonic, Manhattan, Miami, Sixtine, Topaze, Vendôme, Versatile — then select the shape (rectangular, barrel, oval, round or Stone), size and ceramic. Steel finishes are lacquered in our workshop: matte black, bronze, gun barrel, copper or gold.

Factory-direct pricing. Buying directly from the manufacture means no middleman: you benefit from high-end design quality at workshop-direct pricing, with ceramic dining tables from 2 245 € TTC, 2026 price list.

How big a table for how many guests?

Here are the reference dimensions for rectangular tables:

  • 6 people: 160 to 180 cm long
  • 8 people: 200 cm
  • 10 people: 240 cm
  • 12 people: 280 cm
  • More than 12 people: fully bespoke, we size the table to your needs

A word of caution on oval shapes: at equal dimensions, an oval table seats fewer guests than a rectangular one. To know exactly how many places an oval format offers, ask us for advice before you decide.

The oblong shape, on the other hand, is very practical: it gives each guest plenty of room while softening the corners of the classic rectangle.

Shapes: rectangular, oval, round, barrel, oblong

  • Rectangular: the most classic format. It maximises seating for a given surface and clearly structures the dining room.
  • Oval: it softens the formal side of the rectangle, encourages conviviality and avoids corners in narrower rooms.
  • Round: ideal for small groups and small rooms. It encourages conversation and fits well in open-plan spaces.
  • Barrel: the design shape par excellence, our best-seller, elegant and practical.
  • Oblong: a little-known shape that is nonetheless very practical in use, all in curves, which breaks up straight lines in some interiors.
  • Asymmetric (Stone): shapes inspired by nature, pebble-like.

Ceramics and finishes: marble effect, travertine, plain

Our ceramic tops cover every style: veined Calacatta effect for a classic chic interior, travertine for a natural, warm feel, matte black for a confident contemporary interior, plain white or grey for quiet elegance. See the ceramics

Frequently asked questions

Is a ceramic table resistant to heat and scratches?
Yes. The 6 mm technical ceramic we use resists hot dishes, everyday scratches and stains such as wine, coffee or lemon. A microfibre cloth and a common cleaning product of the Sanytol type, sold in supermarkets, is all it takes to maintain it.
How much does a ceramic dining table made in France cost?
At COLOMBUS, our ceramic dining tables start at €2,245 incl. VAT, factory-direct (Versatile model), height 75 cm. As every table is made to order in Wattrelos, we provide a precise quotation based on the selected shape, size and ceramic.
Can I order a ceramic table with extensions?
Yes. We make extension systems up to 2 × 50 cm, designed to integrate neatly with the ceramic tabletop. They are compatible only with rectangular, rectangular with rounded corners and square shapes. The extensions, in the same ceramic as the top, are stored separately.
Which tabletop shapes are available?
Rectangular, barrel, oblong, oval, round and asymmetric free-form “Stone” shapes — from 120 cm up to 640 cm bespoke in selected ceramic finishes.
What size of table for 6, 8 or 10 people?
Allow around 60 cm of width per guest. For 6 people, a table of about 160 to 180 cm; for 8, 200 cm; for 10, 240 cm; for 12, 280 cm. We size every table to your room.
Round, oval, barrel or rectangular: which should I choose?
Round encourages conviviality and suits small rooms. Oval softens the space but seats fewer guests for the same surface: ask us for advice. Rectangular structures a large room and maximises seating. Barrel fits easily into most interiors and is much appreciated for its elegance.
Do you deliver and install the table?
In France and Belgium, our team delivers, assembles and installs the table: at the floor of your choice in Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France and Belgium, at ground level in other regions. We also deliver across Europe, on quotation. Bespoke manufacturing takes around 8 weeks.

Manufacturer, not importer

Made in Wattrelos, not imported.

COLOMBUS is neither a reseller nor an importer: we are the manufacturer, and nothing is subcontracted abroad.

Imported tables, generally

  • A glass top with a thin layer of ceramic glued on
  • Much more fragile and unpleasant in daily use: they sound hollow and are noisy
  • An unattractive extra thickness

Our tables, made in our own workshop

  • A specific manufacturing process: they do not sound hollow
  • Quiet in daily use
  • Very slim in appearance, and elegant

A difference you can’t see in a photo, but one you hear the moment you set a glass on the table.
